HKUGA College 20th Anniversary Open Day and Home Coming Party Arrangements

To all guests, alumni, and friends of our school,

The incident in Tai Po has caused profound sorrow in our community. We wish to express our solidarity with all affected families. We extend our deepest condolences to the victims and offer our sincere sympathies and support to the injured individuals and their relatives.

In these difficult times, the 20th Anniversary Open Day celebrations this Saturday and Sunday have been cancelled. The Admission Information Day, encompassing all admission talks, open classrooms and learning displays, will still be held as scheduled on both days. We view this event as an important opportunity for our community to gather and offer mutual support.

Furthermore, the Homecoming Party scheduled for Sunday will be postponed. Details of the new arrangement will be announced at a later date. We understand the heavy hearts many are feeling at this time. We look forward to gathering with our alumni in the future.

We sincerely invite the public to continue supporting our Admission Information Day. Let us also keep the victims in our thoughts, remembering the value of life and the importance of mutual support.
Thank you for your understanding and compassion.

Sincerely,
HKUGA College

2 June 2022 - Author’s Talk "Cross-Cultural Creation of Poetry and Art"

02 Jun 2022
Academic

In the senior assembly on June 2, we were honored to have Miss Natalia Chan introducing us to the cross-cultural creation of poetry and art. "Contemporary poems can travel around." Miss Natalia Chan dropped this comment and led us into the world of modern poetry.

Poetry is not only an art form, but also a bridge across cultures. Miss Natalia Chan uses "Chinese Heroes" as a series of clues to tell us about comics, dance dramas, and the poem "Non-related Accidents" created after the performance. Such cross-cultural creation reminds us that art needs to be experienced and should not be limited by format.

Later, Miss Natalia Chan shared her poems written in 2013 in memory of Leslie Cheung and about the changes in Hong Kong, so that we could understand the power of words. Writing sincerely and expressing ourselves in words create a force that time cannot erase. As young people, we should also use our creativity and imagination to write the world that belongs to us.
