Purpose
Science is the study of the natural world, and of the way that humans interact with it. It is traditionally separated into three strands: biology, chemistry and physics. Our science course reflects these domains, but also requires students to study developments in emerging areas of scientific study such as biotechnology and environmental science.
As a practical subject, we place a strong emphasis on developing processes and investigative skills through hands-on activities, as well as appreciating how scientific knowledge is acquired. The impact of scientific developments on the environment, individuals and society is also emphasised as we endeavour to provide quality science learning experiences for students both inside and outside of the College.
