Financial Assistance
In accordance with the Education Bureau's requirements for schools under the Direct Subsidy Scheme, the School allocates 10% of its total income from tuition fees to the Financial Assistance and Scholarship Schemes.
Tuition Fee Remission Scheme
This scheme aims at ensuring no eligible students will be turned away from our School because of their family financial conditions (including those from families receiving the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) and students receiving financial assistance provided by the Student Financial Assistance Agency (SFAA) ), and it is based on principles of fairness, effectiveness, clarity and efficiency.
The Means Test
The School adopts the "Adjusted Family Income" (AFI) mechanism of the Student Financial Assistance Agency of the HKSAR Government as the means test to assess the eligibility of a family for student financial assistance and its assistance level. But the School's Level of Assistance is more flexible than the Government scheme. The AFI mechanism is based on the following formula:
- Gross annual income of the family( Pre-printed/ Pre-filled E-Form) includes the annual income of the applicant (Parent of the student) and his / her spouse; 30% of the annual income of unmarried child / children residing with the family if applicable; and the contribution from relatives / friends if applicable.
- The members of a family normally refer to the applicant, his/her spouse, unmarried child / children residing with the family and the dependent parent(s) who are supported by the applicant and/or his/her spouse (Please refer to the Household Application Form).
- For single-parent families of 2 to 3 members, the 'plus 1 factor' in the divisor of the AFI formula will be increased to 2.
Level of Assistance
The AFI eligibility benchmarks for various levels of assistance in the current school year are listed in the table below. Please note that the AFI is not the average monthly income of a family.
2024/25 school year - AFI Groups between (HK$) | Level of Assistance |
---|---|
0 - 60,500 | 100% |
60,501 - 78,650 | 75% |
78,651 - 96,800 | 50% |
96,801 - 108,900 | 25% |
> 108,900 | Ineligible |
