Uniform

The uniform is intended for all students to have a sense of belonging to the school. It is also a means for the public to recognise our students as representatives of the College when they outside of school. Students are required to dress formally on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They will wear their casual uniforms on the other three days of the week. For the First School Day and the Last School Day of the year, students are always expected to wear formal uniforms to attend the ceremonies.

P.E. uniforms must be worn during P.E. lessons and specific lessons, certain ELAs or sporting competitions.  Students are allowed to wear P.E. uniforms to school only if their P.E. lesson is in Period 1 or Periods 1 to 2. They should change into normal uniform after the P.E. lesson(s). Students who have P.E. lesson(s) starting from a period other than Period 1 must change into their P.E. uniform before the P.E. lesson(s), and change back into their formal/casual uniform after the P.E. lesson(s).

Hair, Make-Up and Accessories

Hair and eyes should be in their natural colour.  Hairstyles should be simple and neat, so as to best represent the school.  Long hair for girls must be tied back when health and safety rules apply, and hair should not cover the eyes but should be pinned back if necessary.  Boys should be clean-shaven, with hair that does not cover the eyes or collar, with the use of hair products limited only to neatening the style.

It is at the school’s discretion whether a hairstyle is appropriate. Students may be asked to have their styles altered in some cases.

Girls may wear a plain stud, on each earlobe to school, while boys are expected not to wear earrings. Religious items may be worn but should be covered by the uniform. A parent letter should be sent to the school if students have to wear religious items. The wearing of other accessories is prohibited.

In line with the ‘natural look’ expected of students, the wearing of make-up and nail varnish is not permitted.
