6 November 2024 - Game Pitching Program

On November 6th, the Game Pitching Session was held in The Hub, featuring five groups of S5 students from last year’s Game Design Program under the Optimization Program. The initiative aimed to enhance students’ creativity, game literacy, and entrepreneurial skills by challenging them to design unique board and card games. After a year of hard work refining their concepts, students pitched their games to a panel of guest, teacher, and student judges.

The pitching session combined creativity with practical skills, encouraging students to transform ideas into marketable products. The session included two guest judges:

• Dr. William Chen, an Adjunct Professor at Griffith University and The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, with over 30 years of experience in corporate financial management and a passion for youth financial education.
• Mr. Danny Lau, a Director at Contex Digital and an Adjunct Lecturer at HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education, with expertise in critical thinking, creativity, and philosophy.

Their extensive knowledge in education, business, and critical thinking provided insightful feedback for the students. Teacher judges Mr. Damon Wan (Deputy Head of PSHE and Business Teacher) and Mr. Bertram Jiang (ICT Teacher), along with S4 Financial Literacy students, and some S3 student representatives, as student judges, also contributed to a well-rounded evaluation.

In the event, students delivered engaging pitches, receiving constructive feedback while showcasing their creativity and collaboration. The session was a valuable learning checkpoint for not only their game product, but their personal growth for future challenges.
