4 May 2019 – Weather Observation Competition 2019

Some curious passersby may have spotted a group of students sticking their arms out early in the morning with an unknown object in their hands. In fact, we geography students, including Lam Shek Yin, Thomas (S5CC); Yee Chun Yin (S5CY); Kwan Kwok Yan, Ashira (S5FW); and Pang Hoi Ying, Kendra (S5YC), were busy collecting climate data to finish our report for the Weather Observation Competition. The competition allowed us to learn and apply geography knowledge during the process.

Although we did not get into the finals for the report presentation category, we were able to pass the preliminary Weather and Climate Quiz Competition with the help of our extensive weather and climate knowledge. Advancing to the quick-fire round, our team had to prepare for a question within 10 minutes and present our results immediately afterwards onstage. Though it was extremely nerve-racking, we managed to put our heads together to achieve amazing results. All four of us are incredibly honoured to have received Champion of the Weather and Climate Quiz Competition, and have benefited immensely from the experience.
