Igniting Curiosity and Empowering Minds: Exploring the Legislative Council Complex in Hong Kong

Recently, our students had the opportunity to explore the Legislative Council (LegCo) Complex, deepening their understanding of the history and operations of the Hong Kong legislature.They wandered through the halls and chambers, uncovering the symbolic and historic significance of the legislature. Their excitement grew as they observed a lively debate among legislators over a policy address.

This exposure allowed our students to witness the power of constructive dialogue and the exchange of diverse perspectives firsthand. It was a remarkable sight that left them both inspired and empowered. They further explored the functions and composition of the legislature in an interactive educational session that followed. During a mock debate and voting session on whether Hong Kong should tighten noise control in wet markets, the students eagerly expressed their thoughts and proactively engaged with each other's ideas. Through these engaging activities and discussions, they gained a deeper understanding of the role that the Legislative Council plays in shaping policies and laws for our society.

Their day at the LegCo Complex was truly an eye-opening and joyful experience. It ignited their curiosity, broadened their horizons, and instilled a greater understanding of the democratic process in them.
