10 October - 13 December 2023 - UGA Hunt + Inter-House Basketball + Indoor Rowing Competition

Seemingly in the blink of an eye, the first term has to come to an end. Amidst the whirlwind of academic pursuits, our college has been abuzz with a variety of house activities, blending cherished traditions with exciting new ventures.

Most notably, the UGA hunt was conducted for the first time ever since the establishment of our college. Recognising how the prolonged period of isolation has taken a toll on our collective spirit, making it hard for students to reintegrate into the familiar rhythms of campus life, the teachers took it upon themselves to organize the UGA hunt, with the primary objective being to help family units within the house reconnect and students to enjoy and engage within our community again. Throughout the week, family units consisting of members from different forms engaged in various bonding activities, such as singing the school song together and capturing specific poses at different locations within school. The UGA hunt served as a powerful reminder of the values of collaboration and unity that our college upholds. 

Not only that, our college has also brought back the indoor rowing competition, in which individuals from each house competed against one another on rowing machines, offering an amazing opportunity for all to demonstrate their physical fitness and stamina. The event was well received amongst students, with everyone giving their utmost efforts to support their respective houses and attain impressive results.

In addition, the highly anticipated inter-house basketball competition was also reintroduced this academic year, successfully uniting students who share a passion for the sport. Junior and senior students formed teams to represent their houses and engaged in a series of matches, where they displayed their skills, teamwork and determination to emerge victorious. It was truly captivating to see the basketball court filled with the youthful and vibrant energy of the players.

As the term draws to a close, the memories of these exhilarating events will linger, cultivating a sense of anticipation for the adventures that lie ahead in the next term. Let us all look forward to the exciting opportunities and growth that the second term will bring!
