HKUGA College 20th Anniversary Open Day and Home Coming Party Arrangements

To all guests, alumni, and friends of our school,

The incident in Tai Po has caused profound sorrow in our community. We wish to express our solidarity with all affected families. We extend our deepest condolences to the victims and offer our sincere sympathies and support to the injured individuals and their relatives.

In these difficult times, the 20th Anniversary Open Day celebrations this Saturday and Sunday have been cancelled. The Admission Information Day, encompassing all admission talks, open classrooms and learning displays, will still be held as scheduled on both days. We view this event as an important opportunity for our community to gather and offer mutual support.

Furthermore, the Homecoming Party scheduled for Sunday will be postponed. Details of the new arrangement will be announced at a later date. We understand the heavy hearts many are feeling at this time. We look forward to gathering with our alumni in the future.

We sincerely invite the public to continue supporting our Admission Information Day. Let us also keep the victims in our thoughts, remembering the value of life and the importance of mutual support.
Thank you for your understanding and compassion.

Sincerely,
HKUGA College

4 August 2025 - CSDI Awards 2025

04 Aug 2025
Competition

Our junior students accomplished outstanding awards at the recent CSDI Awards 2025. This year, 2 teams utilized spatial data to create meaningful projects about the development of the Northern Metropolis:

「菜農」可「再農」- Beyond the Blueprint

In this project, the loss of agriculture in the Northern New Territories due to the development of the Northern Metropolis was recognized, and two solutions were proposed to alleviate this situation - "Agri-tourism" and "Farm to Table". These measures introduce the general public to the significance of agriculture and increase the utilization of locally-grown crops respectively, ultimately boosting farmers' income and retaining their culture and significance. Students also conducted analysis to search for the most favourable location to implement these measures.

This project ranked 1st runner-up and received the "Best Use of Spatial Data" award!

Alternative Energy in Northern Metropolis - Under_line

For this project, the second group proposed the implementation of various renewable energy sources such as wind power, solar power and micro-hydropower. They proposed the use of an innovative, yet eco-friendly energy source, which is the deployment of wind trees. By analysing wind directions and speeds in Hong Kong, students found potential sites to install wind trees to reduce carbon footprint.

This project received a Merit award!
