4 - 8 November 2024 - English Week

The annual English Week by the English Department took place this year from 4 to 8 November. The theme for this year was “science fiction” and there were many daily activities planned. 

Besides different themed school bells every day, there was the Cosmic Clash that took place in both junior and senior form assemblies, and was an event where contestants were asked different questions about popular sci-fi movies and literature. Everyone also enjoyed the much-anticipated flash mob that featured all English Department teachers and other teachers, who gathered around the amphitheater to dance in Matrix suits. Students and staff gathered around the amphitheater, and along the corridors on almost every floor in the school building to watch the flash mob, with students rushing to take pictures with their favorite teachers after the event, making the atmosphere even more lively. 

The Dress-up Day also saw students dress up as different personas. This year, we saw a great variety of different characters that our students dressed up as: we had classes who united together to dress up as aliens or anime characters, and we had students who dressed up as giant dinosaurs or Pikachus. Not to mention that the hit movie Wall-E was also open for viewing during lunchtime, and an inter-class writing competition, which was an app design competition, was also held. 

Many of us were very fond of this experience. We look forward to yet another great English Week next year, with many more activities that capture students’ interests and most importantly, for everyone to have lots of fun in this spectacular week!
