During the second term of the 2023-2024 academic year, our S4 students hosted an engaging Game Design Workshop on June 29, inviting primary school students to experience the unique board games they had created. This event showcased the culmination of our students’ hard work in the Game Design Optimization program.

In this workshop, students formed five groups, each tasked with developing an original board game. Group 1 designed a WWII-themed command and conquer game, allowing players to control countries and engage in strategic battles. Group 2 created a card game based on the same theme, but focused on teamwork and communication among players. Group 3 offered a card fighting game where players deployed soldiers and tanks in a battlefield setting. Group 4 explored Chinese history with a supernatural-themed card-fighting game featuring gods and demons. Group 5 developed a captivating murder mystery roleplay game, where players took on different characters to solve a thrilling case.

After playing, the primary school students were invited to share their feedback, with which the S4 designers will use to refine their games. The goal is not only to improve the games but also to explore production opportunities for potential sales. This workshop provided a valuable platform for creativity and collaboration, fostering a love for game design among all participants.
