27 - 28 September 2024 - Musical Production 2024: Anastasia
Anastasia: The Musical (Youth Edition) was performed in the afternoon on September 27th in the School Hall, followed by two additional performances—one on the evening of the same day and the other at night on September 28th. The first show was exclusively for internal S1 and S2 students and teachers, while the subsequent shows welcomed a wider audience, including principals, teachers, parents, and senior students from both our college and primary school.
The story of Anastasia follows a young woman’s journey to discover her past, set against the backdrop of the tumultuous period following the Russian Revolution. The narrative centers on Anya, an amnesiac orphan who dreams of a better life.
The production marks a significant milestone as it is the first large-scale show utilizing our upgraded sound and lighting system of our school hall. The performance was led by our two talented casts: Cast A featured Eunice Chau (S4G) and Timothy Hau (Alumnus), while Cast B included Allie To (Alumnus) and Nick Mak (S6A).
It was a collaborative effort involving various organizations, teachers, and students both in and outside of the school. The school provided significant support for the musical production, with workshops led by director Ms. Jenny Cheng, music director Mr. Daniel Kuk, and choreographer Ms. Sum Leung beginning over a year prior to the performances. Numerous crew members and teacher helpers also prepared for months to create this immersive experience.
We look forward to returning next school year. After all, the show must go on!
