HKUGA College 20th Anniversary Open Day and Home Coming Party Arrangements

To all guests, alumni, and friends of our school,

The incident in Tai Po has caused profound sorrow in our community. We wish to express our solidarity with all affected families. We extend our deepest condolences to the victims and offer our sincere sympathies and support to the injured individuals and their relatives.

In these difficult times, the 20th Anniversary Open Day celebrations this Saturday and Sunday have been cancelled. The Admission Information Day, encompassing all admission talks, open classrooms and learning displays, will still be held as scheduled on both days. We view this event as an important opportunity for our community to gather and offer mutual support.

Furthermore, the Homecoming Party scheduled for Sunday will be postponed. Details of the new arrangement will be announced at a later date. We understand the heavy hearts many are feeling at this time. We look forward to gathering with our alumni in the future.

We sincerely invite the public to continue supporting our Admission Information Day. Let us also keep the victims in our thoughts, remembering the value of life and the importance of mutual support.
Thank you for your understanding and compassion.

Sincerely,
HKUGA College

On July 22, 2025, 25 students from S1 to S5 engaged in the Hospitality Engagement program conducted by the International Culinary Institute and the Chinese Culinary Institute under the Vocational Training Centre (VTC). This initiative aimed to enhance their cooking skills and deepen their understanding of both Western delicacies and Chinese dishes.

During the program, students learned techniques such as braiding bread and piping buttercream decoratively, including creating cupcake bouquets. They gained insights into the composition of ingredients in bread-making and the significance of each step in the recipe, such as resting the dough and massaging the buttercream, guided by professionals at the International Culinary Institute.

After lunch at the student canteen, prepared by students from the Chinese Culinary Institute, an experienced master chef led two student assistants to demonstrate dumpling-making skills and the key techniques for crafting red bean paste pastries (豆沙角), a traditional Chinese dessert, in a professional kitchen.

Both students and teachers found the workshop immensely satisfying and gained valuable knowledge from the experience. We are deeply grateful for this enriching opportunity provided by the VTC and look forward to participating in future workshops.
