18-20 April 2023 - House Dance Competition
After three years of the pandemic, the face-to-face dance competition is finally back! The house dance competition was held from 18 to 20 April 2023 in the amphitheatre and the school hall. Two houses performed each day. Austen’s and Gandhi’s performances marked the beginning of the competition. The show was followed by Newton and Laozi the next day despite the adverse weather. On the last day, Suukyi and Copland push the mood to the peak, with over 250 audience members cheering for their captains and friends.
The Dance Competition aims to strengthen the bonding between captains, committee members, and members. It provided a platform to showcase our ability, creativity, and potential to our judges, teachers, and fellow schoolmates. The judging criteria include facial expressions, the difficulty of steps, energy, creativity, and synchronicity.
We, the house captains, seize every opportunity to improve members’ sense of belonging to their house and boost the house spirit and atmosphere around the school campus. In this competition, we achieved this by striving our best and showing all our energy in the show. We are proud of all performers who dedicated time and effort to practices, rehearsals, and the final performance. In progress, we built trust and mutual appreciation and got closer to each other. Each house has its unique performance style; we all showcased our greatest strengths and showed our best side in front of the audience.
The dance competition was successfully held with support from our principals, teachers, and students. The Champion goes to Newton, and the second and the third place go to Laozi and Austen, respectively.
