16-18 April 2024 - PSHE Week

16 - 18 Apr 2024
Academic

PSHE Week at our College, centered around the theme "Humanity and Nature," engaged students from the 16th to the 18th of April. The event aimed to deepen their understanding of the interconnection between humanity and the natural world, while also incorporating an exciting house competition. Here's a concise overview of the impactful activities:

Junior form students were captivated by a talk on paleontology and fossils, igniting curiosity about Earth's history and the importance of artifact preservation. This activity also contributed to the house competition, as students earned points for their respective houses based on their engagement and participation. Besides, senior form students viewed a thought-provoking documentary on Lantau Island's ecology, emphasising conservation and sustainable practices. Their active involvement in discussions and reflection during the screening earned valuable points for their houses in the competition.

After-school activities included visiting the Hong Kong Biodiversity Museum and immersing students in the region's rich biodiversity. An "Ecological Tour: Exploring Flora and Fauna" took students on a captivating journey within our college premises, fostering a sense of environmental stewardship. The highlight was the "Exhibition Gallery: Life (Cycle) of the Hong Kong Newt," unveiling the challenges faced by these vulnerable creatures due to human activities.

Throughout the week, students deepened their understanding of Hong Kong's ecosystem, developed a sense of environmental responsibility, and fostered collaboration. The house competition added an element of excitement and encouraged teamwork among students, as they worked together to earn points for their houses by actively participating in the activities. The PSHE Week this year empowered our students to make a positive impact on the environment, nurtured a sense of global citizenship, and fostered healthy inter-house competition.
